In the next two weeks someone very dear to me, son Jamie will also head off on his own adventure. Riding his mountain bike along the length of the Bicentennial National Trail. Originally known as the 'Horse Trail' it is one of the longest multi-use, non-motorised, self-reliant trails in the world. The trail starts in Cooktown and stretches 5,330 kilometres to Healesville north east of Melbourne, running the entire length of the Great Dividing Range. The trail follows old coach roads, stock routes, brumby tracks, rivers and fire trails, links 18 of Australia's National Parks, more than 50 State forests and provides access to some of the wildest, most remote country in the world. Jamie expects the ride to take 5+ months. Jamie is riding to support his selected charity 'Gotcha4life'.

Challenge to Lead
The Challenge to Lead intensive 2 day live in course was held at the Canterbury Hotel in Forest Hill. The 15 participants gave their all and were very pleased with their tuition. Alan Colvin and Paul Runting gave a sterling performance accompanied by the mysterious Natasha and Roger. The subjects were as varied as communication strategies, ethics, culture and emotional intelligence. A wonderful course that I can thoroughly recommend.
Georgia Tracy -
WONDER WOMAN
Ran a marathon last weekend to raise money for Kevin Heinze Grow to build a much needed therapy hub to deliver clinical services.
In her words;
Well it’s done! In terms of tough, it was right up there with childbirth I was really tired, sore and OVER IT and actually felt quite annoyed that it was as hard as it was, given the 12 weeks of training but spurred on by everyone who donated to my fundraiser. I really cannot say thank you enough! Also all the love and encouragement I received. RESULT: 4:35, came 418th overall, 8th in my category (female 50-54) and here’s the best bit…I was the 99th female across the line Top 100 A bit tired now Thanks again friends and family
If you still want to make a donation for KHG you can…(I’m SO amazed and humbled by all the people who have so kindly and generously done so already!!
We are about to turn 50 years and as Bulletin Editor I want to run stories about our previous projects and members. Graeme Trainor has donated stories from his time as Editor, many thanks Graeme. Now I need more, and pictures. Please don't send as multimedia messages as I cannot receive them.
While we’re getting on with the business of helping others, let’s take a moment to remember our fellow Members, Partners and Friends of the Club, who may be doing it a little tough.
We’re also thinking of our long-term absent Members whom we don’t see often enough.
I’m sure all of us know an absent or ex Member who would love to have a call from any one of us as Members of the Rotary Club of Doncaster.
If you do know anyone who is unwell, or is going through challenging times, or even if you’re up against it yourself, contact our Welfare Officer, PP Frank Evans on 9337 8493, or email frank.evans1@bigpond.com.
