For over 20 years, the Club has been running a workplace leadership program, facilitated by Rotarians from the District who had the skills and experience in leadership. It was a major fund raiser for the Club. In 2013, the program was revamped through the energies of one of our members, Maurice Kerrigan. It was based on a leadership book called The Leadership Challenge using their materials. The program was facilitated by professional facilitators who donated their time pro bono over 3 days.  In 2021 the course was ‘Australianised” using material developed by the facilitators and reduced to 2 days.
People who attend the program come from a wide variety of organisations; local government, not-for-profits, public unities, multi-nationals and small business. This provides a wide spectrum of experiences of skills which creates a dynamic and challenging environment.
It is the Club’s major fund raiser and has contributed over $150,00 since it commenced.
This year the program will be running on 12th-13th May at Canterbury International in Notting Hill.

Hi David,

The NYSF was an amazing experience which I am so thankful for attending, throughout countless hours online, watching extremely cool lectures and competing in wonderful whacky challenges, I have made many new friends as well as having learned an incomprehensible amount on topics that I never knew existed! Personally, my favorite parts were live crosses to extreme places such as Antarctica, or the giant hadron collider in Switzerland. I also enjoyed lectures given by Nobel Prize laureates. Overall, the NYSF was an experience of a lifetime, I really appreciate the sponsorship and I am thankful for the work that Rotary does for our community.  If you would like me to do a face to face video, or zoom call I would be delighted to do so, and if you still need help with the car exhibition I would be happy to help out as well. Hope you are well!!

Kind regards,
Jacques

Welfare
While we’re getting on with the business of helping others, let’s take a moment to remember our fellow Members, Partners and Friends of the Club, who may be doing it a little tough.
We’re also thinking of our long-term absent Members whom we don’t see often enough.
I’m sure all of us know an absent or ex Member who would love to have a call from any one of us as Members of the Rotary Club of Doncaster.
If you do know anyone who is unwell, or is going through challenging times, or even if you’re up against it yourself, contact our Welfare Officer, PP Frank Evans on 9337 8493, or email frank.evans1@bigpond.com.
